B 96 Playlist

Hey,

Has anyone heard B 96 recently? I think they are suffering from an identity crisis again.

They call themselves "Chicago's hits and Hip-Hop" but at times they sound like 3 different formats.

1) A straight hip-hop station

2) A CHR/Mainstream station adding some non-rhythmic pop songs

3) Their former 90s Rhythmic Party Radio format where Cascada and September played within 30 minutes.

Also, funny how the "anna be down with the hood yo but really live near Rockford" Styles and Roman called September "Cry for Me" new music. Don't they realize that song came out last fall? LOL!

Thoughts, Comments? This they are testing/tweaking some things over there to better compete with Kiss?
 
I think they sound much better then Kiss and better then they have in a while. If they add a few more Pop/Rock and Dance titles into regular rotation they'll sound a lot like Z-103.5 Toronto. In general, B-96 sounds like a great major market CHR whereas Kiss FM sounds like a very cookie cutter Rhythmic and Recurrent Leaning CHR.
