B 98.5 Imaging

Is it me, or has B 98.5 tweaked their imaging over the past few days/in the past weeks? I noticed some new TOH IDs along with a few other different elements.

They seem to have a new female voice doing the imaging.

My favorite imaging on B98.5 was that done by Jon Carter and his female counterpart (Buffy?) around the 2005-2010 or so period.

Build a wall around B98.5 and make Q100 pay for it.

Because Power 96 just came in in Arbitron at #4!

When was the last time a station at the Building of Death was ranked so high?

That's true.

When 96 Rock had run its course, Clear Channel introduced Project 9-6-1. That decision was influenced by the success of 105.3 as a rock station, but it wasn't very well thought out. The 96.1 signal is as good as any in the market. Project 9-6-1 was simply too niche a format for that big signal. It did not have the ratings potential commensurate with that signal. Putting on a mass appeal station such as Power 96-1 was kind of a no-brainer. And iHeart knows how to do CHR well.

Not disagreeing with you. Tend to appreciate your posts the most on here BUT I do want you to explain the "Project 9-6-1 was simply too niche" comment. For me, modern rock stations that are active or mainstream are not niche at all but its the alternative one's that are niche.

In addition, I think 105.3 going back active rock would be a good move only because I've noticed lots of active rock stations popping up in suburbia communities around major metro areas. Appears harder active rock does better in the more blue collar burbs and rural areas where as alternative seems to do better in the urban areas.
