B 98.5 Steve & Vikki phase 2

I see that Cox got the website for B 98.5 updated just after midnight to reflect the new Steve & Vikki morning show that starts in a few hours. I caught Larry Lane at midnight right after the legal ID but at that point he said nothing.

Their photo gallery on b985.com is loaded with pictures of them together with celebrities...inside the Star 94 studio! Hah!

Their VO announcer used the words "Steve and Vikki" just after 1:15 AM - the first mention of them over the WSB-FM airwaves.

The main page on their website has at least 8 mentions of Steve and Vikki, including claiming a national 80's tour is a "Steve and Vikki" reunion concert (it is not).

Expect the B98.5 spin machine on this one later on this morning. Officially, their new slogan is now "Atlanta's Best Variety of Soft Rock...And The New Home for Steve and Vikki" (Takes you back to the days they were voted the #1 at work station).

and since it was more than four hours after you posted when they first hit the air, where else would the
celeb photos come from? no secret where they previously worked, and NO star logos are showing

And Vikki accidentally said "Star 94" at 5:05 a.m.

She should have a big piece of paper with "B98.5" in front of her, like they did with Howard Stern when W-4 in Detroit flipped from rock to country and he was still doing the morning show as Hopalong Howie... "THINK COUNTRY!"

Congrats to S&V, Tom, Jeff, and crew for NAILING IT! this morning. Professional, tight, great forward motion, concise breaks, music to match their appeal, and entertaining content delivered in a fast pace format. Note too that most of their Star 94 endorsements are back on as well. What matters most: They were having fun and you could feel it.

Funny how getting paid exorbitant amounts of money will have that kind of an effect on you.

In Tom, do you mean Tom Sullivan who was on along with Holly Firfer for about 20 minutes hyping their ridiculous show on 11Alive? Did you even listen to the whole show if you thought Tom nailed it. What is to nail on a guest appearance. You made it sound like he was on the show all day.

Tom & Holly's looks like just two "talking heads" with no chemistry. I don't think it will be around for the long hall. There simply are "tons" of better, similar programs available. It's trite.

Good luck to S&V.

Yes, Tom Sullivan...and yes, the 11Alive show is ridiculous. Tom's ability to come off with a great line is part of the chemistry that develops from the right ensemble. Agreed it doesn't transfer to TV at least in the 11 Alive show format. He's scheduled to join S&V on Thursdays - to start.

RAD1- "Entertaining content??? You were listening to 98.5 on the dial right???"
LOL!
It's unusual and refreshing to hear a Cox station go beyond liner cards.
