B-98 SOUNDING BETTER THAN EVER

Hey Caller 10, they tweaked their 80's, and really did a good job at it. Now with more
currents than ever before..................I hate to see it all go away for Christmas music.
But, that works well for them also. Too bad it took them about 15 years to figure it all out.

Hey it's B985.com's contest page online at http://www.b985.com/s/contests/. Have you heard about it? It currently says:

"Jordan's Lunch Box

Listen to Jordan Graye from 10am-3pm weekdays. Every day she'll open her Lunch Box and award what's inside to caller 10!"

Wow! It's great to be me.

I wonder if giving up their postion as the soft rock staion if that doesn't open the door for a return of Peach (insert frequency here)

I doubt CC would bring back a soft AC, but Cumulus might.

Cumulus could set up a line consisting of a soft AC (maybe with some smooth jazz), Journey in the hot AC space (without currents, of course), and Q100 could go full CHR/M. It would be interesting to see if Cumulus could then cram in a return of TOC, perhaps on one of the translators, to have a little something for everyone.

I agree, B-98.5 has really tweaked the format, and the sound of their signal is AMAZING. I am listening to their 80's weekend on my 1985 Sony SRF-22W Walkman as I write this, they are playing "Der Komissar" by After the Fire. Sounds better than ever. Sounds so much better than my compressed Itunes download of the same song. ANALOG FM radio sounds so good. Amazing how a 26 year old low priced radio, a well programmed station, and good engineering staff makes for great entertainment.

I wish they would skip the Christmas crap. Seriously, if people want to listen to this drool, go buy a CD or download one of the what, 50 songs and put them on repeat play. Otherwise once it starts, I'll be back to Internet radio (sounds like crap compared to real FM) and Iphone supplied music.

I can't stand Christmas music, maybe it's because Christmas hasn't been the same since my mother passed in 2006, but it's nothing more than a commercially produced holiday. I'm officially not participating. I wish my favorite Atlanta FM's would do the same...but I know I'm a minority.

They seem to have gotten their 80's down to the cream of the crop. It's like they are working
off the top 50 songs of the 80's ONLY which works well with their format........less filling.

I heard a rumor that caller 10 was in DC to lobby the FCC to bring back the 98 @9.

Actually both myself and GoodTimesandGreatOldies are here in DC. I will testify about the detrimental economic effects on productivity in Atlanta's economy since B98.5 removed the 98 at 9 from the work routine of hundreds of thousands of office workers, and GoodTimes will testify about the "powerful history of Randy & Spiff".

So myself and GoodTimesandGreatOldies are joining forces and will not rest until the new B98.5 lineup has Jordan Graye 10a-3p, and from 5:30 to 10am B98.5 FM is your new home of Randy & Spiff! And make sure to start your workday with B98.5 FM's 98 at 9, have you heard about it? Randy & Spiff kick off over ninety-eight minutes of music every weekday morning at nine, on Atlanta's station for the best variety of soft rock and the new home of Randy & Spiff ... B98.5 FM! Great soft rock favorites like Firefall's "You Are The Woman" are back on B98.5, it's good times and great soft rock!

As strange as it sounds: R & S (5:30 to 9AM) might be an improvement for either 97.1 or 98.5. I know R & S did not work at the CC stations. I just question: would any thing have worked at the building of career & iconic radio station death (96 Rock and Peach). The 106.7 gig was doomed by the Citadel buy out. Fox 97.1 under Cox was another career killer too. Bob Neil is gone, so hiring R & S would not be admitting that cox did not handle Fox 97 very well. I think R & S would work better on 98.5 than 97.1
