B&C: Six bidders for WLNE

I fully agree with teevee's comment - a move to the top of the tower would greatly improve WLNE's signal. Hopefully, a large TV station chain, like Hearst or Belo, will buy the station and put a lot of resources and money to upgrade the station. In addition, the new owner could add weekend morning newscasts, and put out a lot of ads in newspapers, billboards, radio, etc, about the station's newscasts, which in my opinion are as even better than WJAR's and WPRI's. Anda new logo would be good, too. This is not your grandfather's WLNE.

There could well be some technical reason why it might not be possible for WLNE to move to the very top of the WJAR tower. Perhaps short-spacing with other stations on the same RF frequency or an adjacent one.

Even as things stand now...WLNE is still far better off than in the analog days in Tiverton, RI.....Talk about "Your Grandfather's WTEV"... ;)
