Agreed...especially with the article "Clearance Channel".
What CC did in Tuscon is illegal, as RadioStarOne similarly pointed out in item #6 of this thread:

I feel like playing that 1978 Heart hit, "Heartless"...

So in a nutshell what happened in Tucson?

"...in Tucson, laid-off staff members were escorted out immediately, past a police officer, and told
that "they shouldn't stop to say goodbye to co-workers." Clear Channel said it would ship the
former employees' belongings to them by mail..."
Except for the Police Officer being in attendance for the "escorting," this coincides
with your comment below in another thread:

A station manager I once worked for tried that we'll send you your stuff routine on me. So all I did was call the local police for assistance and within about fifteen minutes an officer was there...I got my things. Its amazing how fast that manager crumbled under the threat of arrest! A station has no right under the law to deny you your property...

The Tuscon case was succintly pointed out by B.F.T. when he said that "in laying
off employees, it (Clear Channel) placed security over sensitivity."

Maybe I'm just now noticing, but has the word radio always been bold-faced in BFT's columns? Or is that something new?

Here's my theory: Jay searched for the column on SFGate.com using "Radio" as the keyword. When you search using a specific word on the website, that word is highlighted.

The direct link to the column is:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/02/08/PKRB15IPUT.DTL

You'll note: no boldface radios.

(I think.)

I think "Boldface Radio" was one of the formats on 98.9...about 1991, wasn't it?
