I hate to be pedantic, but you shouldve called this "B101 Sylacauga changes format and name"

I wonder how many people know who WFEB is today and despite not being from there im intrigued with what small town stations are up to.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other...
Moderator did what you did not do. It is very important when starting a thread to explain what it is about.

I don't see the point of changing what I posted as far as the title of the thread (I can't believe I am receiving grief over what I entitled a thread on here). I was just using the title "WFEB" for brevity's sake. The content of my post mentions Sylacauga anyway.

So does the adminstration changing the title also indicate the content of our posts can be just changed/altered at moderator's whim, even if the content doesn't violate the site's TOS?

The point of a discussion board is to generate discussion. Putting just call letters in a posting says nothing about what the post is. Post titles have been edited on here through nearly every administration.

IF a post includes content that should not be included such as copyrighted data (such as some posting info in violation of what Nielsen allows) we will edit to remove and it will show the post as edited with an explanation why. Otherwise none of the current administrators have nor will we edit the content of a post.

I still feel it's unnecessary to alter the title. How am I or other members supposed to know if we are being specific enough as far as what to entitle each thread we start?

what is WFEB? who is WFEB? Where is WFEB?

you know the answer to that, a few others MIGHT

People like me like small town radio, but we dont have time to read every thread. "WFEB" tells me nothing

"B101 Sylacauga changes format and name" tells me who, what, when (in theory) and where"

Think about your target audience when you create titles, not you and what will grab more attention

Example:

I didn't put the guys name or organization there, i thought what would grab the widest audience and what the discussion was about.

When the police chief or city staff come in for interviews, I dont put "Laramie Police News".. I find out about a specific topic or two he talked about and use that for the title

@SomeRadioGuy Again, I just wrote "WFEB" for brevity's sake. Typically, I am usually more detailed with my descriptions of titles on here (most people know that is the case bc I have been a member of this forum for almost twenty years now and I post regularly). Believe me, I am probably more detail-oriented than I oughta be...just ask anyone who reads posts I write which look more like novels, lol.

I just didn't feel what I entitled the thread was a big deal bc the post DOES contain the info about where WFEB is located. All readers had to do was pull up the post to find out where the station was licensed. Having said that, I felt it really didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. This has gone on for longer than it should have. You and I will have to agree to disagree on this matter.

As far as the new classic rock format, I am wondering if listeners in Sylacauga are already listening to WBPT "Classic Rock 106.9" out of Birmingham? Will many of them change over to WFEB/100.9?
