B101 vs. Oldies 103

Can we even compare them since B101 is no longer an oldies station? B101 is now classic hits, playing mainly 70's and 80's rock and pop hits with little soul or disco, plus a few 60's songs thrown in. Oldies 103.3 is playing an even amount of pop, rock, soul, and disco from the 60's and 70's with a just a touch of 80's (I have heard "I've Had The Time Of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, and "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters). Even 105.7 WROR in Boston (classic hits) plays more soul and disco than B101. I prefer Oldies 103.3 because they still play 60's music regularly, and they play an even mix of soul and disco with the 60's and 70's (and some 80's) pop and rock music. I like some 70's and 80's rock, but not a station that plays mainly that. What station do you listen to? Granted, I am 28 years old, but I love many kinds of music.

You said it. They're 2 different formats now & 2 different presentations. B101 seems to get deeper at times now, especially on weekends. I heard Ariel by Dean Friedman a few weeks ago which was a national top 30 hit in 1977 but much bigger locally. That tells me B101 is at least doing more than going by national popularity & is looking at what really was played in New England back in the day.
