B101 vs The Breeze

In meaningless numbers? Or in anything that actually has significance?

It’s a legit question. Focusing on something meaningless or meaningful?
I guess it depends on what you're looking for or whether you believe the 6+ numbers are really meaningless. Personally, I call them meaningless but I don't really believe they are. I think they can be instructive and indicate trends. Not always, but sometimes. I mean, B101.1's numbers have tanked pretty much everywhere and you can see that in the 6+ numbers. So I don't think they're 100% meaningless. But that's just me.
To answer the actual question: Unless something completely insane occurs, I think B101.1 will remain ahead of The Breeze for literally ever in the 6+ numbers. Probably the same for the 18-49 group. I suppose it's possible that at some point B and The Breeze could mingle in the 25-54 group but I'm doubtful of that. WOGL is in that space (though they did drop five places last month).
I think B101.1 and The Breeze can survive together just fine though it's pretty clear that a Soft AC in 2019 is having a bigger impact on the Mainstream AC than one had in the mid-aughts.

In this unique change hating market called Philly, listeners stick to a brand they were weaned on for ages, the Breeze will never beat the B, although IMHO they are far superior, except for evenings. I would bet if both stations launched at the same time, even steven, without anyone knowing they existed before the Breeze would of clobbered the B...
This is a tired old trope. Markets across the country have long-time successful stations, with their cyclical ups and downs. There is not some mythical difference that everyone else in the world than Philadelphians. We’re not all huddled around black & white TVs still glued to Gunsmoke.
If you had replaced "Gunsmoke" with "American Bandstand" I might have believed it.
In my honest opinion, look for either a DEAD HEAT or for The Breeze to OVERTAKE B101 by a slight point. Ever since The Breeze's launch, the radio game has been very competitive.
There’s less than zero chance B101 doesn’t do Christmas.
I joked in another thread about B101.1 not doing Christmas music this year but it was indeed a joke. Even if they don't particularly love breaking format for the last few weeks of each year, they're pretty much stuck with it. The negative public response would be massive. There may well be changes to the way they do the Christmas format but you can be guaranteed that they're going to do it one way or another.
I'd put money on 11/22 or 11/27 as the flip date. Unless someone else (but who? LOL) does it on 11/8, in which case B101.1 will have to jump in earlier.
Considering the value it adds, and it essentially is part of the format by this point, I’m not thinking as a general principle that “they” don’t like it. I mean, sure, a person on staff may be not be a fan on a personal level, or gets weary of it (which can be true of the “regular” music of course), but I don’t picture the management sitting there glum about having to do it as if it’s eating their broccoli. 
Where did we ever get the idea that Christmas stations "don't like breaking the format"?
In my experience, stations LOVE giving the gold library a rest. The music sounds fresher when it comes back in January.
Most of the successful Christmas formats occur at stations that EMBRACE the format with not just the music, but web page, jingles, contests, content, etc.
They love the energy that builds as it gets closer to Christmas Eve where (almost) 1/2 of all radios in the metro are tuned to the station.
And they love that they can ask confiscatory rates for the ads.
Why would they ever NOT want to do it?
Philly has had some good Christmas music variety. Sunny 104.5, Now 97.5, and 98.1 WOGL all had a deep library of Christmas music.
98.1 WOGL will probably never go all Christmas so I’ll miss their big library of Christmas classics. Perhaps 106.1 The Breeze will go all Christmas with the former Sunny 104.5 library, which is sitting on a hard drive somewhere in the same building. Last year they didn’t go deep with the Christmas music, probably because the Christmas music was just a stunt

Why does this "sitting on a hard drive in the building" thing keep cropping up? Like, multiple times per year?
iHeart has their Christmas library. That's the library. That's what they'll use if they do the ho-ho-ho thing.

I do get a chuckle when I see that. I think about an actual external hard drive from back in the day. A big clunky piece of hardware sitting disconnected in some office closet. Although, I suppose it's not entirely inconceivable that the library lives somewhere. Kinda like when you open iTunes and you notice playlists you created a hundred years ago just sitting there in the folder list. No reason for them to be there, you probably should have deleted them long ago. And then you get up and walk away from your laptop without deleting them. haha. But...................magic 8 ball says UNLIKELY. haha
Oh sure, some old piece of equipment buried under piles of other old equipment and other assorted remnants of eras past, may still have it. Maybe on a Windows 95 machine.
