B101: WEBSITE MAINTAINANCE

One of the B101 weekenders has left the station but not the building. You'd think they would remove him from the website.

Hey bra, I have never posted anything on this site until now, but I wanted to take time out to say how much I really appreciate you pointing out my mistake of not changing the website. It has been updated. In the old days, any exposure was good exposure, but apparently not.

I am assuming that you are that weekender and you could have at least shown some professional courtesy by just shooting me an email, instead of posting it on here.

And this is how you spell maintenance.

Thanks and keep up the good work!
Tim

I;m sure the average listener/website visitor didn't even realize said person was gone. An no, McRadio, you are not the average listener if you're posting on this website.

Yes I'm sure the average listener didn't notice and I don't blame the webmaster. It isn't his job to take attendance. That combined with things like the Celts promo just combine to show to lack of attention to detail there. If people will listen anyway then who cares about stuff that a professional operation cares about. These things are just symptoms when one or two stations are on autopilot.

Thanks for thinking so highly of me (LOL) ;D.

Mark, no offense. As a pro, you understand that weekend voices come and go (and weekDAYs for that matter).

An outdated promo running, ouch. That's unacceptable.

Yeah god forbid traffic make an error and the wrong promo airs. I've never heard or seen that on any other radio station or tv station, anywhere, ever, nowhere, at all.

Back when I worked in Master Control, back when it was not automatic, and there was no auto pilot, I ran it all by hand, I had an outdated promo hit the air, due to a trafficing error. I didn't notice it in the playlist because the playlist doesn't usually show the correct end of run date. I've seen this on other TV stations, and heard it on other radio stations, including those owned by Citadel in this very market.

It's a mistake, it happens. I think this whole thread being made to make mountains out of molehills, to be honest.

By simply setting proper kill dates on promos and/or spots would prevent this from happening in NexGen, IIRC. On this board, I usually come to the defense of those who are actually in radio vs. the disgruntled has-beens and never-haves, but I can't defend a lack of attention to detail.

Don't make assumptions about posters. I've noticed you give good input but always defend radio, which can be misguided. It implies if a station is doing something, then it probably is the right thing. And we all know that's wrong.

Never said that every station is doing the right thing (read: B101 playing an outdated promo); I call it like I see it. Maybe I do defend radio to a fault, though. Maybe it's just my respect for my brethren in the industry. Maybe it's because there's a ton of people who, seemingly, despise the industry, but post here to no-end..and it's fun to eff with them!
