B92 going country??

How dumb are you???? With The Wolf being the first station to truly give WEZL a run for their money in recent years, which is a benefit to APEX (helping to get Chuck and their huge shares currently tied for #1 non-ethnic into what used to be WEZL's lock on #1) why would they even think of getting into that fight? There is no money from advertisers left if you are the number 3 country. If you knew anything about the state of South Carolina, due to the pictures of Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn that they used and the fact that the biggest concert to hit the state this year is Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, LeeAnn Rimes and a bunch of other Country people April 26th at William Brice Stadium, this is simply a ploy to their give away of tickets. I would expect every station in the Low Country to be giving away tickets to this show with the exception of the Urbans. WAKE-UP!!!!

B-92 is on my Myspace list and I saw them post this earlier. It may be some contest that will be announce during Kid Kraddick or something. If it is a format flip they wasted money on TV time with a new commercial thats been airing the last 2 weeks. (I only see this commercial during the early morning news.)

I just do not buy it. I looked at the web site and there was no outright mention of this and besides, Columbia has enough trouble supporting three country stations, then why in the world do you think that Charleston can do any better?

this just came to mind--maybe Country Music Television is doing a season 2 of their reality show 'Gone Country' and auditions are gonna be held soon and Charleston is a stop. maybe they want non celebrities this time---I don't know just a guess---but this 'going country thing' is gonna air 7:20AM Friday

Why would Charleston need a 3rd country station? Or is this true and B 92 is doing poorly in the demos and they want to flip to country. WSSX still needs competion and B 92 is that.

Just like I said earlier, it was simply a tease for tickets to Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes and all of the other country acts in Columbia next Saturday.

Dang, and B 92 doesn't even play a song from any of those people named. They do however, play songs from Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Wonder why they would wanna give away tickets or even have tickets to give away from that concert in Columbia, SC next Saturday.

The reason that they are giving them away like every other station is the fact that Kenny chesnee is one of the biggest seling concert tours and has been for several years, so why not get in on the fun too.

I am sure that they all have a large pile of tickets since the show has not been a complete sell out and frankly I think that the prices are too high.

No, my understanding is the promoters made limited offers of ticket giveaways to non-country stations around the state; I know 103X in Florence was giving Chesney tickets away this week.

WNOK here in Columbia has been giving quite a few of them away as well and am sure that they are not the only ones doing this too.
