I love that B96 is playing dance music, to a degree, again in rotation.

Thanks Erik!!!

Thats great that their playing it, but it would be better if they played Cant Get Over, since Cry for you is so old now. One of my local CHRs WBWB has been playing Cant Get over for about a month, and they played Cry for You last year and early this winter, and Cry for you actually made it to number 2 at WBWB Bloomington. However, WBWB was late on adding Bob Sinclar-World Hold On, its still in rotation, and they jumped on David Guetta about a month and a half ago.

Better late than never I guess... As one poster mentioned, listeners dont care if the song is old on a national level if they have never heard it.

Yes and it's been a nice sized hit for both of those stations.

Looks as if B96 has overhauled its playlist in the last month. While they have always played a few pop hits every once in a while, they are playing alot now

Cascada - What Hurts the Most
Cascada - Everytime We Touch
Sarah Bareilles - Love Song
Jesse McCartney - Leavin
One Republic - Stop and Stare
September - Cry For You
Natasha Bedingfield - Pocket Full of Sunshine
Danity Kane - Damaged

Not to mention the few older dance songs from the 90s they have thrown in on a daily basis now

There seems to be a bit of a national backlash towards Rhythmic formats playing only Hip-hop. I know that KXJM here in Portland has been having trouble selling ads. Most of the smart PD's are beginning to 'widen' the Rhythmic playlists a bit to include some crossover pop and dance hits to attract a bit more of the money demo. It seems that the 10 year cycle is returning again, and with any luck there will be another "Better of Alone" or "Blue" like there was last time around (or going back even further, Technotronic/Corona/Culture Beat..)

The only downside, is that after the peak hits in about two years, we will than have an onslaught of bad cheesy copycat records, happens everytime. And then we get stuck with Googoo Dolls/Toad the wet Spork/Hootie and the Blow-up Dolls garbage for a few years...

It's all cyclical.

Hey DanceRev, what do you make of Wired 96.5 playing Ida Corr, and Q-102 adding David Guetta? Do you think your station had something to do with Dance's resurgence on Philly radio? :)

Do I think we had something to do with it? Yes I do. Both records were hits for us. They copied off our mixshows too. I know for a fact they listen and some people over there have asked work here.
