B98.5 adds Rob Thomas' "Lonely No More"

WSB-FM/B98.5 has added Rob Thomas' "Lonely No More" to their regular rotation as of this morning at midnight.

This also marks the first time in well over a year that a playlist change was made not involving the station's big money contest. Is this a sign of better things to come? (Maybe a bigger playlist?, more newer songs added more often?)

No big deal. "Lonely No More" is becoming a big hit on AC.
______________

Given how seldom B98.5 adds songs, it's telling that this is even considered worthy of a mention on this board!

It took the station that long to add the song? I am surprised. I guess it isn't unusual if you live in the market.
______________

I heard that B98.5 was slipping in the latest election of "#1 station to listen to at work." The Rob Thomas song will put them over the top.

Do you think Buck Belue is steaming that a song on B98.5 is getting more "coverage" from Rodney Ho than he is?
______________

B98.5 only adds songs once they become a recurrent. The other non-Christian AC, Lite 94.9, only plays currents during overnights (and Delilah will do whatever she wants as well in the evenings.)

Maybe this question has been asked before, so forgive me. But why only program a song that FITS your format when it becomes a recurrent or only overnights?

B98.5 thrives on familiarity. It believes its listeners do not have tolerance for new music but assumes they do occasionally listen to stations such as Star 94 or Q100, which play currents that might fit their format. Once Star and Q100 each plays "Lonely No More" 1,000 times over 25 weeks, B98.5 listeners might recognize it.

I'm not really sure why Lite only plays currents overnights. You'd figure the record labels will know that and discount it. But it does in a way help the labels say that their artist is being played on x number of stations.

someone choke off that crap... and lite, uhhh hmmm, (PEACH) for those of us
who hate the lite name, does a better job, of playing songs 98.5 wont ever touch. Also note, remember the 70s and 80s weekends, on 98, geez what a great sounding show, too bad they stopped doing them.

This song was in the top 10 on Casey Kasem's AT10 last weekend. Way to go Lite FM for playing AT10 Sundays from 3pm-6pm.
