B98.5 brings back all-80's weekends

B98.5 has indicated on their website that they will be playing nothing but 80s music every single weekend until further notice.

B98.5 did this from 2002-2004, discontinuting the weekends shortly after 105.3 WMAX came to town. They debuted the once a month rotating theme weekends in 2007 after 94.9 went country.

I don't know if this means the end of the other theme weekends or not. I also wonder how long this will last, and how this will affect the possibility of Atlanta getting another AC.

Glad to hear this. B98.5 was doing all-70s or all-80s weekends long before 2002, dating back to the early 90s...usually competing off and on with Star 94.

Having the 80's theme weekends every weekend was the right call. At least 98.5 is becoming less boring. And no, I don't think Atlanta will not get another AC. Probably will not get one for the foreseeable future

This is great news! I used to love the all 70's weekends back in the late 90's and remember when B98.5 started playing all 70's on Saturday and all 80's on Sunday. Mix 98.9 in Youngstown plays all 80's on the weekends and this is something I really miss during the months when I still live in Atlanta. I just hope B98.5 plays all of the music from the 80's like Mix does. Looks like I'm going to have to set a preset on my radios for 98.5.

B98.5 ought to consider syndicating the American Top 40 reruns from the 80s on the weekends. I enjoy listening to them on satellite and also online.

I agree. The ONLY way you would stand a chance (signal wise) would be on a 100KW C or C0 and there is not one thats is "ripe" for change in the ATL. The only one I could think of would be 96.1 and CC blew up 94.9. A very long shot Star could morph into a Hot AC and forget the HOT.
