Windows has released XP, Vista, and 7 since 2001 - saying those artists are the idea of what AC should be playing is like saying we should all still be using XP.
Lol, you should have mentioned Windows 95 from 1995 or MS-DOS from 1981.

Since we still hear James Taylor on AC radio today we also still have the option to change our Windows appearance to "Windows Classic" Theme under our appearance settings on Windows 7 to make our Windows look like Windows 95. Since we still hear James Taylor on AC radio today we still have MS-DOS as Command Prompt on Windows 7. Funny huh? :D

I agree, if AC had phased out 60s in the late 90s means they should have phased out 70s back in the late 2000s.

I just think that era has better longevity than the 60s, which had better longevity than the 50s, and so on.
It think so too.

IMO, Clear Channel, by far, has some of the 'oldest' and most conservative AC stations. One of several exceptions is WLIT in Chicago, which has a sound similar to B98.5....borderline hot AC.
Then it's time for a call letter change.

B-101 in Philadelphia and 1067 Lite FM in New York, probably the two leading AC stations in the country, have recently stopped playing 70s music (as has 93.9 Lite in Chicago, although they are hardly a 'leading' station) as well. Those stations are typically a little ahead of most other AC's, so it's coming.

Re: calls....in a PPM market like Chicago, it doesn't matter.

Their calls represents their brand "93.9 Lite FM".

Right. Same goes for the New York City station. Let stations that are actually "Lite" have those letters.

I found a thread about WLTW somewhere but don't remember what I did with the link. When I find it I'll put it here.

It is available. We have this little thing called the interweb, or something like that, that lets people discover all kinds of things.

A. I don't have fast enough Internet at home, or sound on my computer, or the desire to go to more than a few select sites to keep anything from happening to my computer. At most libraries I don't have sound either because I refuse to carry around a pair of earphones everywhere.

B. Can you get it in the car? I don't have the money to spend on that anyway, or on fast Internet at home.

Life isn't fair. Businesses can't cater to every, um, unique case.

Very few markets have a "Lite" station anymore.
Yes, well, there should be something. Charlotte, NC has what is for all practical puposes a daytime-only AM station which doesn't even have a clear signal throughout the city but does reach areas in SC. If they ever get a new tower for their simulcast partner, the northern areas of the market will be covered too, during the day. After 9 A.M., anyway.

Greenville has WMUU, which is kind of extreme.

I don't really consider WMUU 'lite' - seems like every time I put it on there, it's something religious or classical

Some of its music is kind of uptempo, that's true. But if you want soft music, that's the best option.

Charlotte also has BBN, part-time, though that's always Christian, but the music is Lite. And WMUU reaches parts of the Charlotte area. I can hear it sometimes in the morning in Concord--mostly when going downhill. Greenville also has WHLC if you live on the west end and north of I-85. And Gaffney has BBN too.
