B98.5 jingles

They're using the 1991 package for Y98 in St. Louis from TM Century.

I think here's the Y98 demo. You can actually play the top of the hour and pretend "Heeeeeyy I'm Kelly McKoy and I just love to hear the sound of my voice. And I'm puking my way through another fifty-minute music hour, just for you, on the station voted number #1 for the most music while you listen at work. Huhhhhh huhhhhu hhuhhuhuh puke puke" <hit shotgun jingle out>

Yep, that's them. And agreed, they sound awful, just like many of the early 90's TM Century packages.

What's weird though is that some still sound really good...the 1993 package for WLIT (now sold through StudioDragonfly) comes to mind. They're either great or awful, with no middle ground.

Please explain. Do you mean certain cuts sound good or certain lyric/logo treatments do? They sound dated if anything, but B98 is a mainstream AC isn't it? Is this package a newly sung set or did they have these from years ago?

They had these jingles from the early to mid-90s before they switched to the "Mix 98.5" package from TM around '97/'98. Different singers now than before comparing now to the Bill Duncan aircheck on the GA Radio Hall of Fame website. That weather bed they have now, they didn't have back then. Back then they used a simple bed in C-sharp at the end of each hour (anyone know who made that particular weather bed by any chance).

I have the package on demo from tm that has the mix jingles on it. For a long time they were using about three different packs on air from TM. I hung out with Uncle Dunc, or Bill Duncan for years in and around B, and he told me about at least three they were using. The weather bed is from a Production Package from Network music. I have that weather bed in its full length. I loved that bed for weahter. Its actually supposed to be a news open, but what a great choice for wx.
