B98.5 PD gone

It looks like Paul Ciliano is gone as PD from WSB-FM/B98.5

I noticed something funny when they didn't add any new songs at the beginning of the big money contest a couple of weeks ago. I looked at the B98.5 website, and his name has been removed under the contact information.

I hope they get someone who will make a few changes, like more currents and lobby Cox higherups for a bigger playlist (but that probably won't happen).

Well I guess HE won't be voting for B98.5 as his favorate radio station to listen to at work!

I promise this isn't sarcasm, but...

..What does the PD at B98.5 do from 9-5 each day? Three or four times a year he prepares for a cash promotion, four times a year he pores over the ratings, the liners/sweepers change only subtly..the same jocks have been there forever and will likely remain forever..someone else handles the music, I guess.

I'm really serious: how would he make up a typical workday?

Perhaps those are the very reasons he was let go? Lack of creativity? A need for fresh ideas?

OR...we could all be speculating and he actually left on his own to move on to bigger and better things.

OR...maybe he's not gone at all. Where did this idea that he left come from??

I believe it's a vast right-wing conspiracy involving the Knight Templar.

I'd say that setting up the polls for the ongoing elections would take up a certain amount of time each day. Of course, we don't know how often those elections take place, and who is eligible to vote. I don't know of anyone that's ever participated. I don't recall a single election in which B98.5 came in #2, however. Yes, that's probably where the bulk of the program director's efforts go.

Time well spent.

As well he should be. Wasn't B98.5 recently voted #1 for listening at work again?

Yes. And I think he's the swing vote. Who knows how someone else would vote?

Ciliano is still employed with B98.5

Chris Wegmann tells me that this is not true. Paul is indeed still there.

Re: Ciliano is still employed with B98.5

Runs all of Cox AC programming? Thought former PD Tom Palaveeda (sp) had the AC format captain title for Bob Neil.

Apologies

I apologize. When a name is removed from a website, plus things seem a little out of the norm, it sends a message that could be construed the way I got it. Just a bad putting two and two together.

Lesson: next time, check the facts.

Re: I promise this isn't sarcasm, but...

I used to work there years ago. The PD then used to sit in his office and smoke cigarettes all day. And I recall a certain PD of the AM who used to walk the halls drinking coffee all day. I never saw him do anything else.
