B98 Confirms XMAS

On their FaceBook page, they said they would start playing it "soon". Please don't start it too early!

There's probably someone at Digital White Columns assigned to listen to The Fish 24/7, and maybe the Cumulus translators, to make sure that B98.5 switches within seconds of anyone else prior to 12:01 Thanksgiving morning.

That's good to hear, otherwise try explaining to your kids that Santa isn't coming this year because B98.5 FM canceled Christmas.

The past two years, Fish has started Christmas the day before Thanksgiving at around 7:50 a.m. B98.5 follows at around noon. We'll see if they are that predictable again this year.

That's what happened yesterday in Milwaukee. 55 minutes, they go from zero to two all-Christmas stations.

Feh. Humbug.

As of 11/17, there are already three stations in the Cleveland, OH area playing all Xmas 24/7.

Personally, I prefer 1-2 holiday songs per hour starting the day after Thanksgiving with stations increasing the number of Christmas songs in rotation with their standard playlist and then going all Christmas on Xmas Eve and Christmas Day. Anything more than that is too repetitive for me. How many different ways can you sing "Jingle Bells" "Let It Snow" or any other holiday song without getting burnt out?

I think, but I could be wrong, that B98 starts off with a couple weekends of
Christmas music before going full stream.

I've said it before, I say it once a year. How is 104.7 The Fish "safe for the whole family"? My family's Jewish. :D

And in regards to B98.5, here's your answer:

"B98.5's Vikki & Kelly will kick-off the Christmas on Peachtree festivities at 5 a.m. on Monday, November 28th.

Also B98.5's Jordan Graye and Kelly McCoy will broadcast live from the window overlooking Peachtree Street. Look for Santa and other special guests to make appearances on the shows and for exclusive prizes to be given away on-air."

Santa? You mean Captain Herb is going to be on B98.5FM?

Surely B98.5 won't wait until the Monday after Thanksgiving to go all-Christmas. My personal, uneducated prediction is sometime during the day on Thanksgiving--not 12:01 AM, but maybe noon or so, at the absolute latest.

(and, Caller10, I promise to not call you Shirley anymore.)
