All Access confirms that Brian Freeman replaces BAM. AA cites BF's stops in SoFla. No word on what's next for BAM. Wouldn't be surprised if she heads back to DC.

Oh she's "lucky" alright. It's always "lucky" to be out of work especially when the whole radio business is f----d up and you already work for one of the better companies left...at least in North Carolina. Why so bitter "Chenn?" Someone at Curtis piss you off or are you just jealous of those lucky enough to work there?

I know a number of people who work for Curtis and like it. Listen, the Curtis deal (benefits, resources, etc) are not as good as those folks had with CBS - but nothing has been as good as they had it under Summit years ago! Bottom line is having a job is better than hunting one!

My concern has always been the heritage of WSJS! The station has withstood attacks from many directions. It has adapted to the market and the competition. It has always been successful financially. The billing has always out paced the ratings - it is the nature of the beast!

Beth Ann has talent. It is just not the right talent for the station or the day-part. Her style and interest, IMHO, is better suited for the mornings - even mornings on a n-t station - particularly one that wants to avoid confrontation in the day-part.

Look at BAM’s resume – she hasn’t been happy for any length of time in any location or job! Too bad!

So it's going to be Brian Freeman the talk show host and not Brian Freeman the mime? Wow. Curtis Media had a chance to step outside the box and try something radically different and what do they do? Just more of the same type of programming you always hear on AM radio. People talking.

BTW. Heard a rumor today that Ed Skurka is going to work for WSJS also. Not sure if it is true or not.

One problem I have with talk radio is...they always stomp all over the intros to those great songs. In fact some times the fade the great song out and start yucking it up on the ole' yuck box...play the music and shut up..... ;)

A mime should be able to handle this...I would hope. :D

Wasn't she also in some kind of management role? Is it possible she's still with the company?

all access made it clear that she hit the door...HARD!

BAM was the PD also. I suspect new guy will be PD or maybe it will be Tom Hamilton!

I thought I heard Skurka's voice the other day. Of course, Ed has a history with WSJS and it is a good fit!

Skurka is the smoothest radio newsman in the Triad. I understand he's been doing PT work at ISP since CC made the stupid mistake of getting rid of "Chef Ed" last year. Nice to know he's back in the fold.
