"Baby, What A Big Surprise"

That's what was playing on WEOL's Morning Show with Craig Adam and Bruce Van Dyke. The surprise was that they were playing if off of an LP record. Seems WEOL engineer Glenn found an old turntable in the, well shall we say, WEOL archives. He dusted it off and hooked it up in the air studio. The morning guys put it to good use. Craig Adams mentioned how he liked the "warmth of vinyl", but would like to be able to have that warmth without the click and pops found on many records. (Sidebar to Craig: Keep them in their sleeves and jackets and store them properly and you usually can avoid these problems). He also mentioned that there was a hum coming out of the record player. As a listener, I could just barely make out what might have been what he was talking about. I hope Bruce and Craig will consider making the playing of a record from the
vast(?) WEOL record library a regular weekly or monthly feature on their excellent morning show. Craig mentioned that they had a Lawrence Welk album up there. Ooohhh...should I take back my request?
