Bachelor Father On RTV

This is based on RTV airing on KAZT-TV 7.2 Prescott/Phoenix, your
mileage* and program schedule may vary...

RTV is just getting into season four of Bachelor Father (1960-61, the
second of two seasons on NBC Thu 9/8), and noticeably different is
the use of episode titles after the open and before the first act (not
sure where the first stopset "really" was since RTV is so inconsistent
in where the breaks run in many of the shows).

Also different is the end of the end credits, where previously the
"A Bachelor Production" and "Revue/MCA" logos were integrated in
the credits, followed by fade to black.

Now with season four--and all you easily frightened boomers may want
to run and hide ;D--the "scary Revue tag" is aired following the credits.

But wait...there's more! It's still the long version of the Revue tag, with
the first note held and the repeated "verse" later on, ending with the
production company title over the Revue/MCA logo.

In what season did MCA shorten the theme? I know in the last couple
seasons of the Beave, when the production company changed from
Gomalco to Kayro-Vue, it also went to the scary Revue tag, but with
the short-version theme (Beave's last season was 1962-63).

*: Professional poster--do not attempt. ;)

I'm no expert on this, but I believe that the long Revue was only the 1960-61 season, including Bachelor Father, Boris Karloff's Thriller, and Checkmate. (See YouTube.) Season 5 of BF had the short Revue, I am sure. The Beave in 60-61 continued the Revue logo during the closing theme, then went with the short Revue for Beave's Season 5, 61-62.

I am sure there were other Revue shows in 60-61 that used the long close (Jack Benny maybe?).....

**Nothing** is as scary as the Revue for Spanish markets that I used to see on ch 23 in Miami.....it had the long Revue (white background, not gray), THEN an eerie MCA acknowledgement, heavy on violins & then a majestic close, and THEN a "Universal City" spinning globe with a long disclaimer about visiting L.A. (in Spanish, natch)---which began with a "Virginian" stinger, then the short UC/Revue. All 3, back-to-back, appeared on the following that ch 23 had:

Los Enredos de Pablito (Leave it to Beaver)
Papa Soltero (Bachelor Father)
Calibre .44 (Tales of Wells Fargo)

[I have no idea what years that these were released for Spanish countries.]

There may have been others, but I don't recall. And, no, I don't drink. Haven't seen it on YouTube yet, but it'd scare anyone if someone put it up.

No doubt with all three elements put together, it would probably go down as one of the longest closing logo sequences on television.

Yup....I just practiced it...comes out to 32 seconds, +/- 2 sec. It's the creepiest.
