Back 2 The Future With The Original Hot 97

Hearing the original hot 97 online is amazing. On air personalities like Broadway Bill Lee and now Debra Rath on Dance/CHR Radio for the first time in years is amazing. Its like 1989 at one minute and then 2007 in another. The mix masters are doing good jobs in playing music they want to play and I want to thank Glenn Friscia for his choice of new dance music he played the past few weeks and James Anthoney for diggin in his freestyle creates. I had sirius for over 3 years and all I can say satellite radio can never even complete with this online station that should be on CD 101 or HD Radio. Thank you Joel for an amazing Job you are doing while making me feel nostaglic and also cutting edge. It feels like the format never flipped. WHen will you be on on the air? Memorial day...July 4th, Augest 16, 5PM maybe? What frequency? CD 101.9 or Hot 97 HD 2 perhaps? The link is www.originalhot97.com

As far as I know this station is NOT Affiliated with Emmis any anyway. So I don't think it would air on any of their frequencies

I have listenend to it for awhile now :)

I wish they had some 80s commercials in there to make it seem MORE REAL!!

So far it is unaffiliated but Im so sure cause they are using all the old Hot airdrops and imaging and even have Debra Rath a CD 101.9 on the air.

They must have some kind of Consent from Emmis to run the Station that way but as far as affiliation, I doubt it. Emmis don't even stream any of their own stations(they should though)

I believe that Joel has said that he has permission from Emmis to use the imaging and some of the old clips. I think that's as far as the affiliation goes but maybe it's a test to see if people will listen before giving it a ride on one of the HD signals. Just a thought.

JP that is exactly what I am talking about. If it gets great exposure then its green lights. That would be great news for dance and pop music fans as well as excellent dance labels like yours.
