After a long, long time away for various reasons, I've returned and have some words to give on recent goings on.

* I said it two years ago and I'll say it now, Kicks was DOA and the dynamics of the market can support only one Country station. Problem is what they can flip to given that anything targeting the black population will have a hard time because a) the signal's blocked in Newburgh and b) the nonwhite population in points north/east is very small.
* Y-105, same song. Come to think of it, Kicks would do well being moved to 105.5 if the right corporate avenues can be dealt with seeing how well WWYZ does in Danbury and how much of it's signal area has no Country.
* Is it just me, or was Cumulus's anti-oldies crusade way ahead of it's time? Are Mix, Kicks, and Y-105 really doing that much better $$$ wise, TSL wise, and P1 wise than Oldies 97, Cool, and B105.5 were?
* Are WBPM and WZCR (and for that matter WTRY) at risk given how CC in many markets has declared Oldies "dead"?
* Hits/Fox: Good idea, just a little too discombulated and a little too late. Orange Country has been failed for so long that Pamal has that audience securely in their pocket and will knock Sunrise down even with the local angle.
* The Touch would have done so much better than Radio Disney on WEOK, even if the money came from local sales vs. cash up front carriage.
* Is it just me or is WGHQ underrated given the effort they've put into their programming vs. past talk attempts?

Discuss amongst yourselves.
