BACK IN THE DAY...STERN'S STUTTERING JOHN INTERVIEWS DOWNEY! MOVIE!

Back in the day...before John got the mega deal from JAY LENO...he had to do those classic interviews. One of the best ones HOWARD STERN played on his old ch 9 WWOR-TV programs...John gets into it with MORTON DOWNEY, JR. Downey was a poormans JERRY SPRINGER.

Downey gets pissed off with John because he's with his gal. Table gets flipped. Fight. It was off the hook.

Sidenote: Downey had a TV show on ch 9 WWOR-TV. Cheap show. Lots of pro America stuff. Morton with that big smile. He enjoyed them smokes!. I recall cheap card table chairs. A quality program that is missed. (lol)

And JOHN MELENDEZ has his movie coming out APRIL 10th !!!! "ONE, TWO, MANY". See his website for info!

Morton Downey Jr. was nothing like Jerry Springer.
He was confrontational by design....the show had much more in common with Joe Pyne & Wally George.
Downey, a talented broadcaster (who was also a successful radio host) played the part extremely well.

It was a joke. Joe was before my time. This board tends to reacher younger demos. If you remember the first years of SPRINGER it was a much different. Morton had fights like todays SPRINGER. Hello!

The show yes. The hosts no.
By the way...both shows have the same executive producer.
