I tuned in from 7:18 to 7:21 this morning, just in time to hear Eileen Buckley report on what a mean, evil man Carl Paladino from the Buffalo School Board is. Apparently, the teacher's federation and the Board's sisterhood doesn't like this man. Someone was offended by something he said (cry me a river). http://news.wbfo.org/post/parent-teacher-organization-denounces-paladinos-behavior

On a side note, since we've had some issues with a Newsmax award, I think this Buckley character received an award from the Associated dePressed and was praised here for it.

Following Buckley was Mike Desmond. He was either crying or dying. Not sure which. But his story was on a huge spike in enrollment to a charter school, which the sisterhood, et al, are against, and Paladino is in favor of. Next up was a commercial and I changed the channel.
 
It's ironic that they cover education in the city of Buffalo? And they they try to cover both sides of an issue? You have an odd perception of "irony". Then again, you're simply lobbing stink bombs here for your own amusement. I guess you ran out of hand lotion, huh?

But they didn't. All they did was point out the protests against a member of the Buffalo School Board, and then state that charter school enrollment is up.

I guess a WBFO listener will take that as "both sides."

Not quite, I just like to hear the whole story. Better yet, from someone who can spit the words out a little faster.

Maybe they should say who is responsible for the charter's success. And also, who is against the charters (BTF, the sista' hood, etc.).

I'm thinking it might have something to do with the flow of money to their friends.

It was only about 10 seconds worth of information, though.

Not only that, it's a safety hazard. Someone listening for more than 10 minutes might fall asleep behind the wheel. It's like watching paint dry.

Let me guess: You are using this forum as practice for when you get your own talk show at Econocom, right?

If you read the first story, it presents a statement by Paladino, and indicates that he declined to comment further. Sounds like both sides to me.

The second story simply reports what's going on at one charter school, without any presentation of opinion from either side. It's called "reporting". It's a concept that's like foreign to a WBEN listener, who expects opinion in conjunction with most "storytelling". It's very likely that "who is responsible for the charter's success" is the staff and leadership of the school, and recognition that they're teaching students successfully. The same could be said for City Honors, which has distinguised itself again as the #1 rated school in WNY.

If you can show some factual information about the finances at WBFO, you should either put up or shut up. You perception of how many "taxpayer dollars" they get is badly skewed. Perhap you should educate yourself a bit more about their finances before you blather on about them.
