Back to FM???

Can't see how anyone who listens to Satellite could ever go back to or even listen to FM again.I rented a car last year and was stuck with Q104 instead of Classic Rewind,I think they played the same Billy Joel song that I heard them play the last time I had them on a few months prior. But thats Classic Rock radio..no album cuts..no new music..no risks.Hopefully radio will go the way of the 8 track....to obscurity

No, hopefully radio will finally wake up and sense the competition, and provide quality music and programming for free that you currently have to pay for by satellite.

This is hillarious. You've just joined the legion of naysayers who were conviced that radio was dead when the TV was invented....who said that AM was dead when FM came on the scene...etc.

If you want to see something pretty funny IMHO, WAXQ reports to Radio & Records. Their listed under the heritage rock format (formally mainstream rock). WAXQ does play some currents and even has a few specialty shows that feature new music but for whatever new stuff they do play, most of it's not really enough to get listed. Check out what gets listed instead instead. ;D Hopefully the link will last.

The difference being that am/fm was portable and tv was not. Satellite is also portable and while am/fm won't disappear they're up against more competition and have lost listeners to satellite and online radio. That's not an opinion.

I go back and forth between sat and Fm becuase the talent on Sat just is not there. Fm still has the better jocks. Sat is either young jocks who will work for no money or old geezers who are long past their prime.

I dont know which satellite service you have,or what your music preference is,I myself have Sirius and listen mostly to All 3 Country channels and Classic Rock Rewind. I am very ''JOCK'' oriented like you,and when I lost my country station it was like losing Family members. When I first turned on Sirius and heard Jim Kerr,Pat St John,Carol Miller and Bill Rock..I never thought of them as geezers...I felt like I was home. And being a Country historian, listening to The Roadhouse with all the jocks from WSM and the Grand Ole Opry, and the Opry on Saturday Night, well, that completes it for me right there. And my wife listens to the 80's channel, with all the jocks from MTV,Goodman,Quinn,Turner....we find the only time we put on FM is to hear 101.5 for traffic or weather.I guess were turncoats, but we love every minute of it.

I have sirus and hardly listen to it b/c the quality sucks but I don't get how you state "young" jocks. their are a few k-rock jocks that are on sirius.
