"Back To The '80s Friday Night" Returns to WODS-HD2

My friend Jeff pointed out to me that "Back to the '80s Friday Night" with Joe Cortese has been resurrected on WODS-HD2 effective last night at 7:00 PM. I was told by 10:00 PM, it appeared to be over rather than at Midnight. Whether it is VT'ed or not, at least loyal fans of the show (many like myself who have listened since 1996 on Mix 98.5 -> Mix 104.1 -> 103.3 WODS) will be able to hear the music we have came to enjoy. I'll check it out this coming Friday. The announcement was posted on the wall here: https://www.facebook.com/backtothe80s

One other note... until this announcement was made, I was saddened to realize the only other outlet locally you could go to for an all-'80s show would be the "Awesome '80s" on 104.5 XLO Saturday nights 7:00 PM - Midnight, a show that I actually hosted when Rick Brackett would take a week off once per month back in 2003 (it was SO MUCH FUN!). 95.5 PLJ in NYC appeared to have dropped "Saturday Night '80s" with Jamie Lee a few weeks ago which I had also enjoyed.

I knew when I posted this I'd get ZERO replies ;) Guess it really is a niche audience and/or the posters on radio-info.com aren't interested in this type of music.

I think just being on the HD2 is the reason why nobody cares. If the announcement was that it was going back on WBMX or something, I'm sure there would have been replies.

This was always one of my favorite programs, as well as Joe's other syndicated program, "Retro Pop Reunion". Hope it finds another place on a "non-HD" position on the dial.

It's also sad that "Retro Pop Reunion" isn't heard locally. It used to be on Sunday night at Mix 104.1 until last summer (when BT8FN moved to WODS). WLNH in NH carries it and I found that if you type it into the "TuneIn Radio" app, you can find it on stations throughout the country. I've listened to it on a station out of PA a few weekends ago.
