Remember the quizzes when Dr. Wible would ask students to correctly spell Schenectady? As in Schenectady, New York? Ah, good times.
I've written tens of thousands of stories over the last 30 years, for newspapers, radio and TV stations, and now the web. I won the first seven Best Radio Reporter awards ever given by AP in Indiana. I have won Murrows, etc. I have always done high quality work--I still am, and I have NEVER, let me repeat, NEVER libeled anyone at any time. PERIOD!
Indiana's libel law is the strongest in the nation. I urge all of you to review it at
http://www.in.gov/judiciary/pubs/media-guide/libel.html. It provides Hoosier reporters with GREAT protections--IF their companies stand behind their employees instead of stabbing them in the Back-yard. I'm still removing the knife.
So let me sum it all up. I resigned over principles, I wasn't fired. BYB is the WORST media company I've ever worked for. Steve Lindell (Steve Larson for those of you who want to know who he really is) is a paranoid, lying, pompous ass. And while I need a new job, I couldn't be HAPPIER to no longer be working in a mouse trap with a transmitter attached to it on 29th Street.
I've had a helluva run. If I never work in a newsroom again, so be it.
