Usually, the Sunday morning political talk shows lead right off with their major interviews with politicians for the week.
Yet anyone interested in watching John McCain's interview with Christiane Amanpour on ABC's "This Week" had to first sit through a ten-minute puff piece called "Made In America," which is actually part of a series from ABC's nightly newscast hosted by Diane Sawyer. For ten minutes, political junkies had to endure a segment on how a couple was bringing in American-manufactured items into their home, followed by a two-minute followup with the couple, Amanpour, and Diane Sawyer herself.
This was the lead segment on "This Week"? Looked like "Good Morning America" to me.
Come on, ABC News. You can do better than that.
