I heard the 6 AM news on Kool 98.3, and listened as Tina Owen proceeded to report the top story, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich being sentenced to fourteen years in prison.
Unfortunately, Owen must not be very familiar with the man, as she referred to him as "Rod Badonnavich." Now, how on Earth do you get "Badonnavich" from "Blagojevich"? I know, on paper, the actual name is probably no picnic to pronounce, but Rod had become so mainstream in recent years ever since his indictment that people started calling him "Blago" for short - as opposed to "Badonna."
What's worse is that I heard Owen drop the name of "Badonnavich" at least five times during the entire news item.
