Bad news for Blake Fulton

If all rumors are true, it's going to be one hell of a bad stretch here for Blake Fulton.

First, the magazine for which he was the sports editor, SportsNashville, has ceased publication permanently

Secondly, the stove is getting VERY hot for The Fan. Reliable sources tell me that plans call for Rooster 106 to return in early April (following the NCAA Basketball Tournament) with Jake Wylde (who already works for Cumulus) returning to the PD's office, where he sat during its first incarnation. There are no plans to move either of The Fan's local shows back to WTN.

But what do I know?
______________

Why wait until April? The station's website is waiting patiently to be resurrected at http://www.mousemanproductions.com/rooster

Sometimes you can trust a rumor, sometimes it's just that, a rumor. It would be nice to see The Rock and The Buzz be put on their heels. As long as they put the right people behind the mics and programming, they can stomp a honey hole in this city. Get Tammy Price back on Middays and put Jake on mornings with his show he does on WTN and the station would go through the roof. If you are correct Bob, I'll buy you a drink. Then I'll drop off my own T&R to Cumulus.

It sounds to me, Mr. Bond, that you know more than I do and that somebody's been blowing smoke up my...well, you know.
______________

Actually, you have been pretty good so far on your picks. I've just been in radio too long to get too hyped until it happens. People have been waiting for years for a good Active Rocker. Ever since the Buzz went on the air. The Rooster was the answer but there was no power. Cumulus would be heroes in Nashville if they put a Rocker on the air with more power than 1067 has now. And let the programmer program. Get good talent and a decent promotions staff, and be the legend. I don't think you got bad information. 106.7 wasn't the only freq that was spoken of in regard to Rock in that building. I just think that they are cautious. Sorry to ramble on.

Wow, Bob. That is some specific information for a rumor. Methinks you have a source within Music Circle East..or an (over)active imagination.

Source it is, but I think 007 (further down in the thread) proved that somebody was leading me down the wrong path. So, all my credibility (as if I ever really had any) is out the window.
______________

Bob, I never said you were lead down the wrong path. I was just putting the caveat out there that April is a long time off in the Radio world. I also admitted that you have been pretty good about your information. If you have a source in the building, they probably know more than I do. I am just being cautious considering the timeline. This is giving the Rock and the Buzz some time to rethink their positions. I hope your information is on target. It would be the greatest coup that Cumulus has ever had in Nashville. It sure would make up for past mistakes.
