Bad Taste?

This morning, I heard a spot on a Louisiana station which shall remain nameless. In fact, the name of the business behind the spot escapes me, but it was a friendly reminder to listeners not to drink and drive over the Thanksgiving holiday. Which I'm all for.

However, you would think they'd use a different background song other than the Dave Matthews Band song "Crash Into Me."

Now, I realize most listeners might not be familiar with the song in question (the station I heard this on was a country station) but most people are familiar with the song, I would think. Does anyone think this was in bad taste?

The only time this would be appropriate (although still tasteless to a degree) is if the public service announcement against drunk driving featured Dave Matthews. However if a business was sponsoring the message as you say, it might not just be tasteless...it might also be a copyright violation and a breech of the stations licensing agreements with BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC.
