Bad Timing Channel 7 ! Next Time Interupt A Commercial

I guess you missed it: Johnny Diamond did yell, "Come on Down..." but it was to Scooter aka Irving Lewis Libby to 'Come on Down' to the Federal Court Building. ;-)

You ARE in the minority. As I have said along with others, it is Channel 7's obligation to air any and all Amber Alert information...if the Alert is just starting or is over. It's the way it is.

We all know that WHDH sensationalizes alot of their stories. However, in this case, they did what they had to do to get the required information out to the public.

You guys are missing Paul's point. It's about taking something as noble as an Amber Alert and reducing it down to a piece of "fluff."

But that is just about how ALL the news is now.

EVERY single time I hear a crack of thunder I hear an emergency weather alert. 10 years ago that wouldn't have been. The TV stations just want to "cover" themselves.

This leads to saturation to the point where no one pays any attention to it.

I can see both sides. People said "you can just see the newspiece later on. You can also just log on and see where and when Amber Alerts are.

So you can make a point for both sides.

Again the issue isn't whether or not Amber Alert is needed it about using a purely informative piece to blow something out of proportion for the sake of sensationalized rating.

And again, MOST TV stations do this now. The slightest bit of snow is a "near-Blizzard."
