Looks like Bakersfield has finally "grown up" and can officially join the rest of the nation in offering local programming in authentic HD.
The first prize goes to Fisher Communications' CBS/FOX duopoly (KBAK/CBS29 & KBFX/FOX58) which launched true HD yesterday.

Next to jump on the HD bandwagon will most likely be KGET (NBC17), which has been teasing a generic and non-date-specific "Coming Soon, January 2011" message on-air for a few weeks now.
That would leave KERO (ABC23) as the sole remaining station (producing local newscasts) in the market lacking local HD production. Chances are with the other stations having made the HD upgrades, KERO won't remain SD much longer (hopefully.)
