According to numerous sources, today it was announced that KERO-TV and all other TV stations owned and operated by McGraw-Hill are up for sale as the company prepares to vacate the broadcasting business.

Not sure how McGraw-Hill's other stations are operated, but KERO has had a dated and shabby on-air appearance for too long. The "disposable" looking set along with being the only major network affiliate in the market to not upgrade to HD for news & local programming will be a significant investment opportunity for the future owner.
Hopefully a buyer with ample pockets will not waste time in making some long overdue upgrades. KERO has a respectable news operation, good community ties, and even some quality on-air personalities. You might say it's a very tarnished diamond worthy of some long overdue "love."
A lot of work and $$$ will be needed to get it back on equal par with its local competitors KGET and KBAK/KBFX...
If someone could respond with observations about how McGraw-Hill's KGTV station in San Diego compares to other stations in that market, it would be greatly appreciated.
