BALTIMORE GETS ITS OWN CHR

At Noon today, Clear Channel flipped Alternative "Channel 104.3" to CHR as "All the Hits, Z104.3"

The logo looks very late-90s Z100ish, to me. Coincidence? You've got to figure that Elvis Duran will be the morning show, unless they go with a simulcast out of CC/DC and run Kane, like Channel used to do with the DC101 morning show.

Regardless, a very cool thing to see!

FINALLY! This is long overdue.
Wanna listen live to to the new Z-104.3 in high quality audio?

I think what finally convinced CC to launch Z-104.3 was seeing Mix 106.5, which served as the market's CHR/Pop and Hot A/C station, outcume nearly every other station in the market under the new PPM system.

So you've got to wonder how Mix will respond to Z's launch. Mix 106.5 added David Guetta's "Sexy Bitch" a few days ago, and has a great mixshow everyday at noon. At the same time, the playlist is a bit Recurrent leaning at times. The new Z-104.3 appears to be very current-based, and as is the case with most Clear Channel CHRs is very big on Rhythmic/Pop.

This is very reminiscent of Baltimore radio in the mid 80s when 104.3 and 106.5 were the market's two CHRs - B-104 (Baltimore's leading CHR of the decade) and Hot Hits K-106.
