If radio-info has its way. Radio-info reports about WSMJ, "as it goes away, it joins other defunct smooth jazz outlets in markets like Atlanta, New York - and just down I-95 from Baltimore in Washington, D.C." They know something we don't know? WJZZ isn't doing well though. I wonder if the PPM flap is momentariily saving Philly's WJJZ?
Also on my my list:
WJCD Norfolk/Virginia Beach
WDSJ Dayton, OH
They're all mostly automated BA and not doing so hot. There are summer jazz festivals happening at or near those places with no jocks to talk about it. Listeners have to listen to any local info amid a slew of commercial announcements within a spot break. But like many liteners they probably switch away when a break starts and miss any announcements about things happening in town.
