BAM! And There it is! DAVID GUETTA Confirms

So FINALLY "when love takes over" is played on Arizona radio! Of course, it had to be featured first through a syndicated radio show, but never the less, it played, and at least we have a station willing to use a dance friendly syndication show. During The Weekend Throwdown show, an interview with David Guetta took place.

THE INTERVIEW WITH DAVID GUETTA
David Guetta was asked a few questions about how the collaboration with Kelly Rowland took place, and in a nutshell, it all started with Kelly Rowland being in a club, just happening to hear one of his records play and fall in love with it, they got to communicating a bit and next thing they know, a project was done. Guetta fell in love with Kelly's style and work on "when love takes over" and that's how it all began! All from a simple laptop in a small home "studio" after just happening to both be in the right place at the right time. They took a break to feature their new single and returned to talk about the state of dance music in America.

DAVID GUETTA TALKS ABOUT DANCE MUSIC MAKING A COMEBACK IN AMERICA
Basically, David Guetta talks about how dance music is big in his country (France) and all around the world, but is so underrated in our country (the U.S.) THEN follows up by saying "BUT IT'S OK BECAUSE I SEE A CHANGE HAPPENING..." and he talks about how things are looking brighter and he can see dance music in the U.S. is CURRENTLY making a come back and it will be big here soon!

BAM! THAT'S IT! HE SAYS IT, AND YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY SUNDAY!

As a matter of fact, I might as well just take the entire week off of work, put up my Christmas tree, hang the lights up around the house, and start sending out the gifts and cards now because as far as I'm concerned, it is now a holiday.

Well, lets just hope this first single makes it big, causes an impact, and pushes to make a change in the ways of radio and the industry today. "When love takes over" is the first single being released off of the David Guetta album coming in August, that he just completed three days ago from the date in which this topic was posted! David Guetta has also done production on the single "I gotta feelin" which is on the Black Eyed Peas album.

VERY BIG THINGS HAPPENING HERE, IN 2009.

I was originally going to post this within the "when Love Takes Over" topic that was already posted a few weeks back, but the moment I heard the things David Guetta had to say, I knew I had to open a completely new topic to discuss it. David Guetta talks about how deep his passion for the music is, how it all started, and how much has changed since his early days of dj'ing. He's amazed at how today he doesn't even have the big studio and equipment that many other producers have, yet he can still put something together and have it heard and appreciated all around the world in clubs and even top 40 radio, all from a program within his laptop in addition to a few other production tools. He is really feeling great about this album. He strongly and passionately believes in the music, and HE sees what's about to happen.

The drought is over, and the storm has yet to come. Three years ago it was just a theory I came up with based on the sound and pattern of things. Then as time passes, it's almost like echoes in a large mountainous forest.. I start to hear producers and people behind the scenes begin to notice what's happening and start speaking on it. Flash forward to the end of 2008, the charts begin to show that things are changing. Hip hop begins to fall to a massive amount of rhythmic r&b and electro-pop content. Many stations nationwide begin their transition to chr pop and rhythmic.... Then 2008 begins to come to a close, I come to the conclusion that 2009 will be the year when the transition really begins to take place through r&b and pop, which would be the beginning of a whole new generation of sound. NOW DAVID GUETTA COMES OUT AND CONFIRMS IT IN THE MIDDLE OF 2009! It is very exciting times we're in as we continue to sit right on the verge of dance music; We're precisely in the middle of "the BIG year", and we're right on the borderline of artists crossing that fine line between pop dance hits and dance pop hits. If all goes right, we will evolve to a point where we will start seeing and hearing more songs that are more on the dance side than the pop side, UNDENIABLY making it to top 40 radio. If it has happened in the past, then it can happen again in the future.....

Something BIG is about to happen. PREPARE YOURSELF NOW!

The story was also featured this past week in Billboard magazine. Appearantly Kelly met Guetta in Cannes, France - she's been partying in the clubs of Southern France for a while now. Remember, her song "Work" was a big Dance record that charted very well on the Pop charts in Europe.

Well, it can happen. The only thing standing in the way are the actions of humans... which other humans can easily override, once they wake up... Besides, this is the year of hope. After all, the entire nation is running based on hope, so if this can be done, I'm sure it can be done in the music world as well. We are hoping for the economy, hoping for the success of this administration's term, and hoping for a change to take place in music... I'm thinking; at least ONE of these hopes should turn out as we hope. Hopefully.

Also don't forget to factor in the advancement of technology and other means of broadcasting and getting music out there. That can also influence the way things are done or what music gets recognized as well. We're already so close, so it's now much more easier than ever to sneak certain styles of music in through different means of broadcasting and have more people accept or at least be open to it.

Very true. Energy 98 is still played in shops around St. Louis. The more exposure good dance music gets in the States, the greater the chance it can push forward.

You just took me back to memory lane when I would slap the 96.7 Party bumpers around the Asbury Park area and managed to get shops on the boardwalk to stream.
