Band Conditions are up in Memphis this Morning

Expect to hear some far off and exotic stations this morning, if you're listening.

While I haven't checked FM yet, TV is hopping, to say the least. Nashville, Huntsville, Chattanooga, Jackson, Meridian, Montgomery, Birmingham all in (some analog; some digital). I am sure there are more exotic locales in there, too, but the band is pretty congested. You may want to check it out.

Sadly, my big antenna project is not quite complete -- the tower is up, but nothing is on it, yet.

Enjoy.

Also in: Columbus, GA; Knoxville; Louisville.

Not super-long distance stuff, but signals are strong.

Ciao,

DE

That's wierd because I talked to a guy earlier who's up in Missouri and he can usually get Rock 103 there, but was not getting it. Instead, he was getting another 102.7.

Course, it could be that the other 102.7 is bouncing farther today. Didn't think to ask where the other was originating from.

I should have got up and checked later... But I was tired and just climbed in bed instead of watching to see what it all turned into. I didn't come home and check the DX sites or maps. I'm a bad DX'er! I did notice on my way home late last night things were starting to open in various directions. I could hear some of the class a's in NW TN & the Bootheel. WMAB 89.9 Ms State was mixing with WKNA. WYMX was there in the shadow of WKIM. WXOQ Selmer was pretty solid on 105.5. I noticed this all around 10 pm.

I need to find a house in the country to rent that's close enough I can still enjoy my Cable TV & High speed internet. First Priority would be a push up pole with a FM Antenna and a good UHF Yagi.

Well, it's still rolling at 1040am. As I write I am watching the Alabama Football press conference on WHNT/Huntsville. I must say, Nich Saban is not a charismatic speaker, but I digress...

Channel 20 from Knoxville is back, and strong at times. Am seeing WCTE-22/Cookeville for the first time.

My APRS Screen (a ham thing) is still full.

So, I suspect FM broadcast is rollin'.
