While driving to LA for damage restoration, I was on the beach road out of Port Arthur (Hiway 82) and on 103.7, KVIL was clobbering KIOL (whose tower is just 30 miles northwest of Port Arthur!).....flipping around the band, came across a station with Jamming Olides....Sounded good so I listened while driving.......HUH??? LAREDO??? Sure enough, around 11am got an ID...
KQUR 94.9....WOW!! Not bad...they lasted until about noon...
but on the drive back, a station out of Corpus was on 93.1 booming in stereo (though the audio on 94.9 was better....hell Jammings was better than most local stations in audio...but then thats Clear Channel in the area....)

FM band is open again this morning 10/20...several San Antonio and Austin stations making it into Houston with solid signals.

Looks like we're getting some late season tropo with the lingering warm weather.

Yep, I heard Houston as clear as can be here near Austin, listened to 97.9 KBXX on the way to work :).
