Bandscan from St. Mary's Peak MT 6/30/24

A personal best summit attempt - at 9,340 feet! It's also the highest elevation I have ever gone to. Glad I had the Boost Oxygen, otherwise it could have gotten really bad as I have had major migraines from 7K elev. before (likely altitude sickness or overexertion, or both). I had a minor headache that faded big-time after I breathed in the oxygen. Wild bandscan at this elevation, some stations I did not expect at all. Pictures and whatnot, later. This scan was from the top of the peak, at the lookout. Terrible west wind at the top, blowing 40 mph or more, so I had to go to the east side of the lookout for cover! I could see the clouds whipping up on the summit, and just below the summit.
The peak is outside of Stevensville MT.

91.3 KAPC Butte (MTPR) / UNID with Your Network of Praise // 88.7. I'm not sure if this was intermod from a very strong KXEH, or if KXEB Big Timber is now on. That's 210 mi if they are. I was looking for Walla Walla to no avail. I would have easily recognized a Positive Life reference...but I guess the Pikes Peak OR transmitters are too far or blocked by other Bitterroots.
91.5 K218AI Rattlesnake (KUFM) / KPLG Plains / possibly another UNID
91.7 KRFA-FM Moscow ID / another UNID NPR, maybe KUMW Dillon

92.9 KLFM Great Falls / unid with current pop music, probably KZZU, but I couldn't get an RDS hit so could it be KEZQ West Yellowstone, the station that has no stream, no website, no trace?

100.3 KLSK Great Falls / K262AB Walkerville (KGLM) 99W 88mi
100.5 UNID with open carrier. It also had a message (like a TIS) but I missed it except for the last few words, and the dead air lasted forever. I assume this is a new LPFM somewhere that operates travel info. Maybe around Drummond, or Dillon?
100.7 KIBG Bigfork / KXLB Bozeman / KPDA Mountain Home ID briefly with Spanish music (233 miles)

Various FM DX on this compilation attached. Includes KZFN-106.1, KLGG-89.3, KZBQ-93.9 Pocatello (forgot to log this - 266 miles), KMON-94.5, KQDI-106.1, KSCY-106.9, K221FW-92.1 Lewiston, KKMT-92.3, K288AW-105.5 (weak 'Kopper' ID), KXLY-99.9 Spokane, others. Also an EAS NWS severe thunderstorm warning via KQLR-89.7 Whitehall for a thunderstorm near Ennis. Thank goodness that storm didn't start heading towards the Bitterroots, even though it drizzled occasionally. Wind at the summit was FEROCIOUS at times. Easily 35-40 mph gusts, or higher.

RDS from KIMO is impressive considering it's east of I-15
I had RDS from KIMO in Kooskia, ID back in 2021. A couple months ago when I went, I had KBEE 98.7 Salt Lake City and what's likely KZAL 94.7 Manson/Chelan (Country music w/ RDS PI 0000) for a split second.

I'm surprised NO reception of the big guns on Pikes Peak (WA/OR), KZHR-92.5, KKSR-95.7, etc. They would have been 191 miles, and there isn't a lot in the way from this peak. The Clearwaters are lower in elevation. I would like to get back to the Bitterroots next summer and try another hike, probably to a lake, as most of the other peaks are class 3 or higher and very high elevation gain. The Cabinet Mountains (NW MT) wouldn't be a bad place to try either.
Salt Lake is 425 miles from Kooskia. Sure it wasn't meteor scatter?
