In the last link, a user pointed out that the FCC has only proposed the rules, not approved them. The editors subsequently changed the article's title.

To hear Genachowski and the rest of the FCC commissioners, you would think that channel sharing was the best thing that could happen to TV.

I'm not seeing it. Channel sharing is giving the viewer less and calling it more. Typical government doublespeak.

Yeah, I saw that too. It's a "Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR)", so it has to go for comments before it becomes law.
I thought it kind of ironic that the initials are "NPR", which is one of the institutions that some politicos are calling for eliminating, too.

"The notice also proposes a framework of rules to allow two or more TV stations to operate on a single 6 MHz channel--the current allocation for one full-power TV station license."

Congratulations FCC, you've just proposed multicasting, but in a form which is far more problematic than what we have now.

I'm not worried as IMHO broadband on the TV channels will work as well as DTV on channels 2-6. FloInternet? :D ;)

The FCC usually abbreviates it "NPRM."
