Bangor-Portland news actualities

I may have asked this before, but don't recall: An oddity that I've noticed on Bangor television is that, for the past three years or so, WABI-5 (CBS) has been featuring actualities from WMTW-8, Portland's ABC affiliate, on its local newscasts. Meanwhile, WVII-7 (ABC) carries actualities from WGME-13 (CBS) in Portland. It used to be that the Bangor stations carried news reports from their Portland network counterparts. What happened to change this? ???

I may be wrong, but I think the Channel 8 actualities on WABI are from Channel 8 WAGM in Presque Isle. They usually are from "The County".

Nope, they are mostly from WMTW, they often show the WMTW8 tag on the mike.
But, occasionally they do show WAGM NewsSource stories, but then, they are co-owned, I believe.

WABI and WAGM were co-owned at one time, but not since 1984....

I didn't realize they split up so long ago. thanks. Interesting history.
On a semi-related topic. I often wonder why WLBZ2 (and to a lesser extent WABI TV5) use CNN stories. Especially with WLBZ being an NBC affiliate, why would they use CNN when they could or maybe should be using MSNBC or NBC news stories instead?
It just seems odd. It would be like a CBS affilaite using FOXNews stories.
