Bangor rimshot 103.1

When did it leave? I see the newest WERU bumper stickers still mention 102.9 Bangor.
I never listen to them, and haven't seen anything in local media about it.

+This is from Al Diamon,s Media Mutt on 2/26/10.
And Bangor-area listeners of non-commercial WERU (89.9 FM) in Blue Hill lost the signal from its repeater station at 102.9 FM in Bangor. According to the Radio-Info.com newsletter, WERU’s owner, Salt Pond Community Broadcasting, was forced to shut down the Bangor station after Stephen King-owned WZON (103.1 FM) in Dover Foxcroft complained of broadcast interference. WERU can’t return to the airwaves in Bangor until the Federal Communications Commission gives the OK

Thanks for the link! I have noticed quite a few ads on TV and in Bangor Daily News for "The Pulse". I thought it would be odd for them to be advertising in Bangor media when the WERU translator screwed up their signal in Bangor. Now I know why. I wonder if WERU could find another spot for their translator. The FM dial is pretty clogged in Bangor now, especially with all the religious translators.

Please don't take this as gospel as I haven't kept up with WERU like I once did. But they may not have a need to go back on in Bangor on a translator. It was either 2008 or 2009 that they filed and were approved with the FCC to change their directional pattern. The power heading toward Bangor was not as strong to protect 89.3 WHSN. If you look at the map in this link: http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WERU&service=FM&status=L&hours=U you will see that it's now non-directional. I wish I had an old map. The entire NNW quadrant was decreased significantly.

Good point! And WHSN has boosted their power up to 3,000 watts now also. I can even get them down here on portions of Mount Desert Island.
