Bangor Standoff

I was watching WCSH news at noon today and saw that there was a standoff in Bangor that rerouted the 4th of July parade to a different part of downtown. It got me thinking - being a holiday, how many radio stations relayed this information on? Does anyone know? I would guess that at least one of Stephen King's stations had it, if not all 3. Any confirmation of that? Any other stations?

I-95 WWMJ had updates. Additionally there were updates on not only the stand-off and then the terrible tragedy of the tractor driver being killed on all of the Townsquare Media's Websites throughout the day and night. WKIT was live and local all day as usual. Newsman Don Morgan was live in downtown Bangor as the standoff was happening.

The Pulse WZON had NBC and local news at the top and bottom of every hour 6am-6pm except during the Red Sox.

Maine's Adult Alternative 103.1 WZLO has NBC news at the top of every hour 24/7 and local news 6am,7am,8am 12pm,4pm and 5pm Mon -Fri.

Good for WWMJ for stepping up and it is nice to know that Stephen King's stations didnt let the listeners down.

Web updates do not equal live and local radio. It is nice someone toom the time, but that really doesnt help the listeners on their way to the parade. Besides from what I could tell, everyone from the Bangor News to TV stations to out of town bloggers had it on their sites. It is nice that it was done but shouldnt be considered a substitute for on air updates. Unless Townsquare wants to just become an internet radio service.

Great to hear about Zone Radio and WWMJ though!

That's truly pathetic. It's bad enough for an all-music station to do that, but 'VOM? Lame to the max.
