banners on the freeways

Guerilla marketing 101. Cheap, easy to deploy (all those interns looking for a break) and just the kind of thing to piss off 'the man'.

Kudos if it works. On the other hand, Even with the awesome brainpower of today's FBI it's highly possible they just might be able to figure out a phone number to call to say "take 'em down" and/or figure out where to send the invoice for the RCW violation!

They just hung a "KISS" banner on the overpass at 130th and Aurora....

KISS Banner on Aurora

Correction:
==========

There are TWO "KISS-106" banners hanging out on the overpass walkway
on 130th and Aurora facing SOUTH - meaning when you drive NORTH at
that intersection you'll spot 'em.....

UPDATE:

NOW they've taken the KISS banners OFF the overpass at 130th and Aurora....

Anyone else notice OTHER banner removals around?

huh. i wonder if CBS got a call and had to take them down. saw more KUBE banners on I-5 and a load of movin banners on i-90. the end has one up on the west seattle bridge as well. is it a banner war starting now? ;)

Probably on the edge of notices going out to radio stations to knock it off or be fined.

I was on a METRO bus recently that had some KUBE (If I recall) bumper stickers suck to the ceiling of the coach.

Not sure if it was "Guerrilla Marketing", or, a new twist by METRO on marketing. I'd almost tend to think the latter, as these several stickers were near the front of the coach in easy sight of the driver.

Speaking of stickers, I saw a KUBE sticker on a car the other day and it made me realize that it was the first radio station sticker of any kind that I'd seen in some time. Do people not care enough about their favorite station anymore to put them on or have stations stopped emphasizing stickers as a marketing tool?
