Buffalo rocker WEDG (103.3) bans Canadian rock after crushing Olympic loss

Canada wins the men’s hockey Gold Medal in overtime, and Citadel’s WEDG says “We're Americans and as such we have to do something that makes us feel just a little better.” The holdout is only for a day, though: “Starting tomorrow, we'll all get along again, but this is just something we have to do.”

Gee, thanks for making Americans look like wimpy, sore losers.

I wonder what hack over at WEDG pulled this one out of the toilet.

I'll bet the accompanying production they threw together last minute was HYSTERICAL!!!

Well, this does come from a station that used to/still does think "moo'ing" at Canadians
is a riot.

Based on that comment I'd say it sounds like you're in need of a sense-of-humor transplant.

Besides, I don't think we'd want the Sabres to play without any Canadians....
 
How much Canadian content does WEDG play anyhow? I hope this was a humorous statement on their part, but then again, we ARE talking WEDG...

Still? I think not... Someone hasn't actually listened since 1995... Way to make your opinion obsolete
 
Can't believe all this todo about very little. I'm sure that can-con was canned for less than a day.
 
Fine then, why not go a whole long week end? Start on Canada day, and end on July 4th with no Can Con.

That'll be fun, I guess, but the question still remains...how many songs will be noticed as absent from the playlist?

Not many, I gather. Plenty of great Seattle sound to fill the void!
