Barix Impedances

This Breakaway Broadcast software intrigues me - anyone use it? Is it easy to use/simple to set up? Most importantly is it good?
Yep, it's good. I sold a whole rack full of audio gear & replaced with BBPand never regretted it. It sounds better & it's truly "ready for prime time". Suggest the M-Audio 192 sound card with the bigger electrolytic caps that BBP recommends on their web site. If you set up an Omnia 6 to sound clean, BBP will sound even cleaner and louder to boot. Best $199 deal around. However, if you set the Omnia up in "jet noise" mode, BBP may or may not equal that. Don't count on a full control version...I'm hearing there may not be one (hope I'm wrong!). But with the substantial number of pre-sets & the adjustment range of each, it doesn't leave you wanting for much...

Okay. So the barix wasn't the problem. What was causing the high end distortion?

Reportedly audio levels are still all over. Was it the Jupiter?

How about info on the audio card Bob?

It's off the main subject, but I really feel Breakaway is practically a quantum leap. I found it very easy to setup. As soon as they put out a full control version, I'll make it difficult to setup. ;D

Love my Breakaway Broadcast on AM pt 15. Makes it thunder like the 50kw powerhouses of my youth, WLS and WCFL.
I run the speed at zero, and the power and range both pretty low, at "17".
When set up for 150% modulation it is astounding on wide range material.
I also run a difficult listening format, and like the way it handles music with a good deal of low level material.
Not sure if I'll audition the latest low-latency release, as it must make some assumptions about bass material, and this is
where I listen for the "oomph" that I crave.
There ARE enough controls and presets to make it do whatever you want.

I have Zara music automation AND breakaway running on an old IBM thinkpad laptop and I seldom hear a glitch.
Can remember the last reboot, probably 4 months ago.

In a few months I'd like to set up a Barix system and put two more pt 15 AMs on exstreamers fed with an off-air monitor to an instreamer.
I'd like 15 khz mono, but after some reading, it looks like that would really tax the upstream limit on my phone line DSL.
Meaning it might work, but would be subject to dropouts if we wanted to use the internet service on other computers and busied it up.
