Barix NAB stream

I'm getting ready for NAB, so Barix NAB stream is up this weekend. Here's the URL:

http://barix.b2netsolutions.com:8010/

You have to paste this into Winamp or WM player. If you click on it, all you'll get is the status page. If you use WM player, don't
forget to hit the play button when it begins buffering or it'll never stop
buffering!

It's an unprocessed MP3 VBR stream with a bandwidth around 160 kbps. Coax
digital right into the Instreamer 100. I'm going to put an Instreamer 1000 on next
week. Playing a combination of FLAC and 256kbps VBR MP3 files bought from
Amazon.

Ten listeners max.

I'm curious to know how it sounds and how reliable it is.

Do we get extra credit for playing it back on our handy Exstreamer? :)

Sorry to have been eating up two of your streams for a little while to compare WMP vs the '100. Both sound great here in Baton Rouge (Cox hi-speed), although the 100 sounds a little cleaner on the high-end versus the Dell's sound card. I did just hear Talking Heads / Road to Nowhere hiccup on both streams.

Are you doing any processing?

It's completely unprocessed. Some of the glitches are due to my uplink-my neighbor was hooking to my wireless. I've always left my connection open for my elderly neighbor to email. etc. but the new kids upstairs are connecting with their Wii and also using Bittorrent. Time to lock things down I guess.

It plays well on my Mac with VLC. It sounds like MP3 but is very consistent with no glitches. It would be nice to hear HE-AAC encoding at at 64kbs for bandwidth conservation.
