Barnes is fired.

He is dismissed. It happened this morning.

He wasn't happy with the news.
 
Opie and Anthony!!! And saying Barnes "wasn't happy about it", umm, have you ever known someone to be thrilled with getting fired? With that said: Can you relate to us what he actually did? Please?
 
Good riddance. Who needs the backwards baseball cap wearing, Denali bragging frat boy anyway?
 
He said today how today was his two year anniversary and Firfer was off the rest of the week for her wedding. Will she really be in on Monday or is she not having a honeymoon?

I figured his contract must have just expired and was wondering if he would still be around.
 
There is a God!.. now with any luck barnes will go back to California and continue making really bad movies that no one wants to see.
 
Barnes wasn't technically fired

Okay. i was told by the radio officials and by Barnes himself that he wasn't fired. They had an amicable mutual parting of the ways. Dave FM's argument: they were going to a more music approach with the new slogan, "Where the music matters." And he wants to be a full-fledged talking "personality." So there was no place for Barnes. Neither side wants to define this as a dismissal. Perhaps that's the way for him to leave with dignity and worked into his separation agreement.

Then again, getting "fired" in radio is hardly a sin or a blot on your resume but if you read his lawsuit against 99X, it's clearly a problem to Barnes because Toucher had said on air he had been "fired." And Barnes is still steamed about it.
 
By the way, Dave FM is going "jockless" next week anyway to introduce the new slogan, "Where the music matters." Thus, this fits nicely with Holly's wedding.

Okay, what makes more sense? Barnes gives away his 9 year family dog due to 'behavior issues' or 'right before he leaves town to pursue another gig as a talking head'?

The guy's heartless, but not stupid. He had to see the writing on the wall.

Honestly, I've tried to warm up to O and A. 3 hours of bragging about how 'great' they are on Letterman, and all the talk about NYC' just doesn't do it for me. They are only tolerable due to thier comedic sidekicks, and they aren't all that. It's like Bob and Tom with the 'F' word and how much they hate Stern. Boooooooring. ;)
 
Are we missing the story here? DaveFM - "Where the music matters?" Huh? So we have to endure another book of Dave, and the "too hip for you" attitude and music? Ugh...
More Sting into Counting Crows into U2 into the Cranberries.... Greaaaaat.
I was hoping the suits would blow it up and put something fun on the air.
 
Any program director who could have listened to Barnes after just a month on the air, then see the Arbitron numbers from 4 books, and do nothing to change or improve the presentation in two years should be sent on her merry way as well.
